Pattern is a recurring part of my creative practice. I am drawn to texture, repetition, organic forms, and overlooked details, often beginning with handmade processes such as printmaking, drawing, collage, and mark-making before developing the work digitally.
My pattern designs are influenced by organic forms, structures and layers, and I enjoy exploring the point where something recognisable begins to become abstract. I am particularly interested in combining tactile, imperfect hand-made marks with digital processes to create designs that retain a sense of movement and materiality.
This strand of my practice informs my wider creative work, especially my interest in noticing repetition, rhythm and small details that often go unnoticed, qualities that also shape my approach to arts, health and wellbeing.
My pattern practice continues to develop through experimentation with print, scanning, digital manipulation and repeat patterns.
